Design Victoria and City of Yarra are pleased to invite you to attend the next Business Ready workshop: Fashion Affairs — Why planning matters?

Workshop overview

Calling all fashion designers — avante-garde, high fashion, tailoring, street-wear, red-carpet, sports, prêt-a-porter, swimwear, couture — whatever your specialty — this workshop is designed for you.

Do you believe you have what it takes to carve out an important, creative place for yourself in the competitive world of fashion? An essential element in achieving business success is a well developed business plan, an important process to steer you in the right direction. A business plan increases awareness of your target market, helping you to understand your financial needs, ensuring you remain competitive while building essential skills and resources.

Your business plan will help build business confidence and clarity, allowing you to analyse and think creatively about your business venture with a view to understanding the factors that influence your success.

This full day workshop will outline the skills and knowledge required to plan for your business including:

  • Understanding the planning process
  • Defining your business goals
  • Conducting market research and analysis
  • Understanding customer needs and expectations
  • Monitoring business performance and customer satisfaction
  • How to involve your team in the planning process
