Brand Strategy and Tone of Voice

Design Victoria together with Design Institute of Australia, Australian Graphic Design Association, Industry Capability Network and Victorian Employers' Chamber of Commerce and Industry are pleased to invite you to attend the Design Ready workshop: Tone and Voice with Joe Rogers, Elmwood Australia.

Workshop overview

How well your brand is received by the target consumer audience is determined by how consumers perceive the brand. A brand can only be perceived through customer touchpoints- what a customer sees and hears reflects what they feel about your brand- now this might be through deliberate communications directed to consumers or it might be indirect, through opinions and word of mouth.

It goes without saying that there is strong correlation between ‘Tone of Voice’ (how the brand speaks and what the brand says) and what a customer perceives. Even if you already have a successful company, tweaking your ‘tone of voice’ or emphasising strong market position can still grow your market further.

Joe Rogers firmly believes that effective communication must combine both effective use of visual as well as written communication.

Interplay of language and visuals is very much the classic Elmwood style that sees the company deliver a product to a new or expanded audience to great effect. The proof of the pudding that Elmwood’s modus operandi works is that Elmwood Australia scooped two awards at the Design Business Association's (DBA) International Design Effectiveness Awards in London at the end of 2007 and is on the short list again this year.

This workshop aims to help you establish your brand’s personality and the ‘tone of voice’ you need to integrate into your communications.
