Design Safari Workshop — Mapping the global journey

Global Design Series Workshop#1

Workshop overview

The global economic downturn has dramatically changed the way businesses now operate and plan to operate in the future. Following on from the seminar, Design Safari – Mapping the global journey, held 19 February, this workshop is designed to empower Victorian small to medium businesses to plan for growth in the new marketplace by adopting a strategic, well defined, global business outlook.

Starting with an overview of the importance of the international marketplace, attendees will be introduced to key issues to determine whether they are “globally ready”.

Specialist guest presenters will provide valuable insights including:

  • Understanding and establishing a cohesive design strategy
  • Valuing intellectual property and the protection of designs, patents, copyright and trademarks
  • Key financial aspects of international trade including the sources of finance and payment terms and obstacles.
