David Turner is e-Business Advisor for the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade). As e-Business Advisor, David is responsible for providing e-business related advice to Austrade’s staff and clients on topics as wide ranging as website usability and content issues through to online payment options for Australian exporters, data security and privacy, and various online marketing tactics from an SME perspective.
David has over ten years experience in the development, documentation, implementation and testing of internet and computer-based technologies. He has also been involved, at length, in the training of non-technical users in online and e-business technologies, and has significant experience working with industry leaders, policy-makers, third-party vendors, and non-technical business professionals in the development of e-business solutions.
Before joining Austrade, David was an e-Business Analyst for the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). He worked on various online delivery projects, including the development of an intranet for the organisation and an email tool, which enabled the organisation to implement targeted on-brand marketing email campaigns to members. He was also involved in the re-development of the organisation’s website, which extended to the provision of training and support to AICD’s national and state offices.
David has also worked as a Business Analyst for the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, an Assistant Developer for an SME web design company and as a freelance web developer, consulting with small business clients on the development of their websites.
