Derek Jardine

Derek has over 15 years experience in designing and implementing online knowledge systems. He has specific experience in the design and implementation of sites that allow users to easily access ‘information in context’ and ensure that they are set-up to effectively meet users’ expectations.
Website design activities of particular interest to Derek are:
- analysis of business and user needs to ensure design supports business goals
- design of site information architecture, taxonomy and thesauri, and
- search engine optimisation.
Derek was previously Manager, Online Communication Design, at Insurance Australia Group (IAG). In this role he managed a team of information design specialists (including professional writers, editors, indexers, forms designers, and information architects), who performed online design activities.
