Joe is an English born, Canadian raised world traveller who has worked for leading communication and brand design agencies in South Africa, Canada and the United
Kingdom for clients such as Vodafone, Levi’s and California’s Academy of Sciences before joining Elmwood two and half years ago.
Since arriving in Melbourne to become Managing Director of Elmwood Australia, Joe has been busy helping to build Elmwood into one of Australia's leading upcoming design agencies. Joe provides senior client counsel to Elmwood's clients including Coles Group, ANZ, Nike, Just Group and SSL.
Joe firmly believes that effective communication must combine both effective use of visual as well as written communication. Interplay of language and visuals is very much the classic Elmwood style that sees the company deliver a product to a new or expanded audience to great effect. The proof of the pudding that Elmwood’s modus operandi works is that Elmwood Australia scooped two awards at the Design Business Association's (DBA) International Design Effectiveness Awards in London at the end of 2007 and is on the short list again this year. Having won more awards than any other agency in the entire history of the awards makes Elmwood the most effective design consultancy in the world!
