Mark Watson is Director of Design Providence, a multi disciplinary practice in the field of Interior Architecture and Product Design founded in 1990. Mark has been a tireless advocate for design and improvements for designers ability to practice.

Highly regarded for expertise in furniture design, the practice has work represented in the National Gallery of Victoria, exhibiting both locally and internationally, recently (2002) winning the ISSI - DIA Design Innovation Award presented by the Victorian Government Lead Minister for Design, the Honourable Lynne Kosky.

Mark held office as Vice President with the Victorian Chapter of the Design Institute of Australia, also as Director with Arts & Recreation Training Victoria, and Artists & Industry. Formerly Chair of the Victorian based Design Collective with the FIAA, inaugural member and chair of the Australian Design Awards - Furniture Panel and the course co-ordinator Furniture Design at NMIT.

Mark has participated in Fringe Furniture many times over the past two decades and is once again a participant in 2008 with his piece called Circadian.
