Why Design?
Great design in fashion is often confused with eccentric, flamboyant media grabbing pieces showcased on the international catwalks. Although I adore such grandiosity as part of the spectacle of fashion, the notion of exquisite design can be better realised in more subtle ways. The curve of a shoulder line, the sublime drape of pure merino wool, the fall of a well-considered architectural lapel or the interrogation of a sustainable process that gives a garment integrity. True design celebrates the artisan skills of fashion enabling it to be an investment, intelligent, considered and valuable.
