Kate Cullity

Why Design?

Kate CullityOrigin; 1350 -1400 or 1600’s (depending on which dictionary you source). From Latin designare to mark out, describe, from DE+ signare, from signum a mark.

All human made elements or interventions are designed (or marked) either consciously or unconsciously, so design may as well be embarked upon with one or more of the following in mind:

Poetic, thoughtful, spontaneous, intuitive, challenging, experimental, visceral, beautiful, multilayered, singular, simple, spectacular, understated, evocative, timely, timeless, romantic, artistic, creative, appropriate, sensual, memorable, referential, punchy, minimal, elaborate, balanced, intellectual, fun, sculptural, sublime, surreal, luscious, balletic, sustainable, sensitive, calligraphic, etc…
