Why Design?
In 1995 the Australian Federal Government commissioned a report, which identified a need to develop a strategic role for design as a matter of urgency. In 2008 Australia still does not have a national design policy. In the mid 1990's both the Korean and Danish Governments acted on reports, which identified design as an important economic and cultural driver. Other countries quickly followed by also implementing national policy and strategic initiatives to promote design as a crucial component of innovation, economic welfare, improving the human condition and the long‑term competitiveness of industry. These countries are now
reaping the benefits of their foresight...
That is, 'Why Design?!'
