Victoria is a thriving hub for design. Victoria’s design sector contributes $7 billion annually to the Victorian economy and accounts for more than $300 million in design related exports. There is enormous potential for the Victorian design sector to continue to grow and further boost Victoria’s reputation as a leader in innovation and as a centre for design excellence.

The Business Ready program is developing the skills of Victorian design professionals to respond to and initiate new business opportunities in local and international markets. The Business Ready seminars and workshops are delivered by leading business experts and design professionals and aim to build:

  • best-practice in working with clients to generate innovative design solutions and commercial outcomes
  • best-practice in exporting design services and working with international clients
  • business performance benchmarks for design consultancies and in-house design team.

Business Ready seminars and workshops are designed to address identified knowledge and skill gaps across the following design disciplines:

  • fashion and textile
  • urban and landscape
  • industrial
  • multimedia
  • graphic
  • design management.
